Ananashead Range Booster Silicon or Germanium
A handmade germanium or silicon booster with tone control, based on the 1966 Dallas Range Master treble booster circuit. Known to be used to sculpt the tones of many UK guitarists in the 60's and 70's as Iommi, Bolan, Clapton, Gallagher, May or Judas Priest in his early works. At some point, some of them changed his germanium transistor based booster to a silicon one due his best reliability and better signal/noise ratio. Also they swapped the input cap to bring more lows, that's the Range control does.
The pedal boost the signal, emphasizing medium/high frequencies adding a raw sound but with a softness similar to the achieved by leaving the wah in a fixed position. With the Range control the spectrum of frequencies is expanded to find the desired tone that suits your equipment.

Un booster de germanio o silicio con control de tono, hecho a mano y basado en el booster de agudos Dallas Range Master de 1966. Conocido por ser usado para esculpir los tonos de muchos guitarristas de UK en los 60 y 70 como Iommi, Bolan, Clapton, Gallagher, May o los primeros Judas Priest.
En algún momento cambiaron su booster de germanio por uno de silicio debido a su mejor fiabilidad y ratio señal/ruido. También cambiaron el condensador de entrada para permitir más graves, esto es lo que hace el control de Range.
El pedal aumenta la señal y enfatiza las frecuencias medias/agudas, añadiendo un sonido crudo pero con un tono similar al logrado al dejar el wah en una posición fija. Con el control de Range el espectro de frecuencias se expande para encontrar el tono deseado y que se adapta a tu equipo.
